Barely two weeks ago, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa was captured begging his Dagoretti North counterpart Simba Arati not to unleash goons on him during the Kibra by-election.
“We’re koliks,” Barasa pleaded while extending his hand to Arati.
However, Arati and his ‘Vote Protection Unit’ would hear none of it and the result was a commotion that left Barasa without his trademark cap.
On Tuesday, November 19, the two met at Parliament buildings and had a handshake. Word has it that the two even shared a meal at MPs lounge.
The photos show the two legislators chatting heartily.
In a viral video that became one of the highlights of the Kibra by-election, Arati is seen subtly commanding goons to attack Barasa on the grounds the grounds of voter bribery.
The incident had a section of Kenyans calling for the arrest of Arati and other Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders over the pockets of violence that rocked the November 7 by-election.
Certainly, politics makes strange bedfellows!
