The official name of Colombia is derived from the last name of explorer Christopher Columbus.

Colombia produces the best Coffee in the world making it the third-largest exporter of coffee after Brazil and Vietnam.
The country produces around 12% of the world’s coffee with UNESCO declaring the “Coffee Cultural Landscape” of Colombia a World Heritage site in 2011.
Ring of fire
The country is part of the Ring of Fire, also referred to as the Circum-Pacific Belt.

It is said that 90% of Earth’s earthquakes occur along its path.
Emeralds
The country is the world’s largest exporter of emeralds as it produces 70-90% of the world’s emeralds.
Colombian emeralds are known for being more beautiful than ones from most other countries.
They are thought to be the best is because they are found in sedimentary host rock rather than igneous rock, which makes them generally purer than emeralds from other regions.
Gay club
Every Saturday evening, the gay scene of Bogota opens its doors and becomes a mega-club paradise land for the LGBTQ community, with a capacity for 5,000 people.
