Bungoma man gives acceptance speech, but turns out Uhuru didn’t nominate him for PS job (video)

One of the key highlights of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s recent appointments on Tuesday, January 14 was the appointment of several youths to serve as Permanent Secretaries (PSs) and Chief Administrative Secretaries (CAS).

One of the names that was mentioned was that of Enosh Momanyi Onyango. The Standard would on January 15 publish the picture of a young man who has since turned out not to be President’s actual choice.

The 29-year-old youth, who bears the same name as the president’s intended choice, went on to record an acceptance speech hailing Uhuru for the appointing youths in senior positions in government.

“Good evening fellow Kenyans, my name is Enosh Momanyi, I am 29 years old from Webuye West Constituency, Bungoma County. Today has been a good day waking up in the morning to calls and texts from people I know and those I don’t know congratulating me for my appointment by the president to the position of the PS for Physical Planning.

“Actually I learned this through The Standard newspaper dated January 15, 2020, over the aforementioned appointment, I wish to thank his excellency for believing in youth,” said Momanyi.

“My desire is to align my responsibilities with Uhuru’s Big Four Agenda. As I conclude, I also wish to thank all Kenyans and I look forward to being a servant to all of you. Thank you,” he added.

The newspaper has since owned up to the mistake and published the picture of the rightful appointee.

Here’s the video of the Enosh’s speech:
