Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli is known to be a serious man. In fact, public servants shudder whenever they receive a call from the president.
However, it seems ‘Magu’ as he is popularly known, has his softer side just like any human being.
In the video shared by city lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi and which Gotta.news is yet to establish when it was captured, Magufuli is seen heaping praise on a female MP belonging to rival Chadema party during a fundraiser.
It all starts when the MP who Gotta.news has identified as Maryam Salum Msabaha stands on the podium to announce her contribution of TSh 500,000 (about KSh 22,000).
Msabaha strides to her seat after making the announcement but is called to the presidential dais by Magufuli.
“ Hebu njoo hapa Msabaha,” calls Magufuli
“ Huyu ni mbunge wa Chadema na amechangia vijana wa CCM… Unaona Tanzania ilivyo nzuri,” says Magufuli while shaking the MPs hand.
But it does not end there, Magufuli goes on to heap praises on the MP for her attractive looks.
“ Halafu siku hizi unapendeza. Na mwelekeo huu ni mzuri…lakini naye sura yake nzuri tu..anaweza kunifanya mimi niongeze siku za kukaa huku.” ( These days you are so attractive. And I like the direction you’ve taken. But her face is so attractive. She could make me decide to spend more days here.)
The video elicited mixed reactions with a number of netizens admitting that beauty has the ability to disarm even the high and the mighty.
