Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has predicted class consciousness will inform the voting pattern in the 2022 poll.
Barasa claimed the current push by some quarters to have Deputy President William Ruto leave government was a clear indication of the longstanding ‘class war’ in the organization of the country’s politics.
“It is clear now that going forth, it is going to be the poor people Vs the rich people. Battle lines have been thrown. Everybody should go where he belongs,” he said.
Barasa and several Western Kenya MPs allied to DP Ruto were reacting to calls by a section of Kieleweke MPs for DP to leave the government and the sacking of Mwangi Kiunjuri from the Agriculture docket.
The Kimilili MP said it was impossible to kick out the DP under the current Constitutional dispensation.
“ You cannot be calling for the resignation of DP of Kenya yet you know the the DP is not equivalent to the Vice-President in yester-years constitution.
The two are conjoined twins. If they don’t want the DP, let them wait for 2022 when Kenyans will go to the elections to elect whoever will be president of the country.”
Sirisia MP John Waluke said it was disheartening those who campaigned for the president were being pushed out of government.
