Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri has been dropped from Cabinet in the just announced reshuffle.
President Uhuru Kenyatta announced the new raft of changes on Tuesday, January 14 during his address to the nation.
Mutahi Kagwe has been picked as the new Health CS while Betty Maina has been nominated to take over the Industrialisation docket.
Rachel Omamo has been reassigned to Foreign Affairs while Sicily Kariuki has been moved to Water ministry.
Peter Munya is the new Agriculture CS while Monica Juma heads to the Defence docket.
Simon Chelugui moves to the Labour Ministry as Ukur Yatani officially heads the Finance docket.
Kiunjuri’s stint faced heavy criticism from Uhuru and the public over the manner as cartels took over the Agricultural sector from maize, maize to coffee sectors.
Matter came to a head during Mashujaa Day celebrations in Kakamega county in October 2018 when President Uhuru publicly asked the CS to put his ministry in order.
