A Kisumu preacher has lit up the internet with claims that the late Raila Odinga was a freemason.
Pastor Samo Mtishiby claims the veteran opposition leader was “taken straight to hell”.
His reason is blunt: he says Raila joined the Freemasons in 1996.
“When Raila died, he was taken straight to hell,” Samo declared in a video now circulating online.
“He was initiated into the Freemasons. So, he was taken to hell directly.”
The preacher then pushes the story further. He speaks of a “third day of judgement”.

Neither in hell nor heaven
Samo claims an angel heard thousands of mourners praising Raila. He says those testimonies triggered a spiritual review.
He describes a divine appeal of a kind that saw Raila lifted out of hell. But not into heaven.
“So Raila was removed from hell,” Samo said.
“But he’s not in Heaven. There is a special case pending over Raila.”
The pastor then turns to faith. Pastor Samo argues that Raila failed to publicly accept Christ as his personal saviour.
To him, that omission remains dangerous.
“He never confessed Jesus Christ,” Samo claimed.
“He confessed his religion. But religion isn’t salvation. Your church isn’t salvation.”
He repeats that Raila’s supporters helped his case despite his Freemason affiliations.
“Hundreds and thousands,” he said.
“Testifiers. Standing in the presence of God. Their testimonies are good. Forgiving. Supporting.”
Generous
Samo also paints Raila as a generous man. He says the late ODM leader was a man who helped people without fanfare.

He also insists Raila was “blood free”.
“He was blood‑free. Raila … with his own blood, never killed a man. His hands are pure, bloodless. I’m telling you the truth as a prophet … I have been a prophet for 40 years … and I have no reason to lie,” Samo claimed.
