-Kenyans On X (KOX) castigated the two for working together to impoverish the country.
-Ruto, however, hailed Uhuru for laying a strong foundation that has seen the Kenya Kwanza government implement key programs.
Kenyans on social media have castigated a meeting between President William Ruto and former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
President Ruto on Monday, December 9, visited his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta at his Ichaweri home in Gatundu.
The State House, in a statement, averred the two leaders discussed matters touching on the reconstitution of IEBC and unity in the country.
However, Kenyans on X (KOX), particularly faulted the duo, saying it was a ploy to continue impoverishing the country.
Some commentators also claimed Uhuru’s newfound dalliance with Uhuru was a testament that he was behind Rigathi Gachagua’s ouster.

I think we should push for the jailing of Uhuru Kenyatta. This is the team that plundered this country to it’s knee pic.twitter.com/1rcK5UHbQq

Joseph Ndaru: When Uhuru tried to sell Raila in Mt Kenya, people rejected him and it was almost comparable to a man who intends to sell pork in Saudi Arabia. People hate you Mr Kasongo! Posing for pictures with Kamau’s son won’t save you from the mess you have done!
Anwar Saddat: “Hehehehe, read the statement from statehouse and that from Uhuru’s office. Things must be very difficult for you to swallow your pride and seek out Uhuru who from his statement nikama alikusomea vizuri.”
SnoopyKenya: You went begging someone in his village. He didn’t even want to come to statehouse. This is after you called him a drunkard and harrassed his kids his mom and stole his goats. You are in a jam now and looking for someone to save you. You are an embarrassment.
QQpQ: “Mr. President seems focused on shaking as many hands as possible—shaking hands with Gen Z online, Raila, Western leaders, the people of Taita Taveta, Mombasa, and now even the former president.”
But, sir, none of this handshaking will matter until the blood of the youths who were killed under your administration finds peace. True leadership requires accountability, not gestures.
I have had a fruitful engagement with Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta when I paid him a courtesy call at his Gatundu home where we discussed national and regional issues.
I thanked him for his continued role as a national statesman and for peace-making in the region.

Eric: Your fate has already been decided. You cannot avert your destiny. You’ve been weighed on the scales of justice and you have been found lacking. You have failed this country in every way that matters.
Eric Ondari: “While it matters to seek such collaborations for the sake of national good, the timing is absolutely questionable.”
While the ordinary citizens are dying from hunger and grappling with the ever-increasing cost of living, a sitting president, HE Ruto, drives across the capital to meet a former president—one who drained the public coffers and left the national kitty empty (At least PresidentRuto said this several times).
What exactly is so urgent? Shouldn’t he be meeting the people, particularly experts, to understand what can be done to improve the situation?
Instead, he’s using taxpayers’ money to fuel cars and seek advice on how to secure his position as president beyond 2027. It’s all a matter of priorities—blatant self-interest over the people’s needs.
