Nominated MP David Sankok has shared his regrets about joining active politics. Sankok who was nominated on Jubilee ticket lamented there are so many brokers in the game who look for every opportunity to squeeze money from waheshimwa.
Speaking during K24 morning show Wednesday, September 25 ,Sankok, 41, said he would not contest or accept any nominations in future.
“I was economically very comfortable before I became a Member of Parliament and I have ever regretted becoming an MP,” said the lawmaker.
Sankok added the presence of political brokers who waylaid politicians for handouts did not make matters any better for the elected leaders.
“Trust you me, I will not go for a second term. I will finish my term then go back to business or to the United Nations as a special advisor on disability issues because it is just too taxing. Everybody feels like you owe them something,” said Sankok.
“Go to the Intercontinental Hotel, today, you will find several of these brokers just waiting,” he said.
Sankok who hails from Narok is known for his trademark green suits and humorous jibes directed at political DP William Ruto’s political detractors.
