Mixed Reactions as Pastor Projects DP Ruto’s Poster During Church Service

Bishop Edward Mwai of Jesus Winner Ministry in Roysambu has sparked a debate online after projecting Deputy President William Ruto’s poster during a church service.

As the Bishop preached to the congregation, DP Ruto’s poster could be spotted on a big LED screen at the alter.

Bishop Mwai also predicted that the DP would be the next president post August 9 General Elections.

The poster that read, ‘Ruto for President’ went up moments after the man of God predicted that the DP would be president.

“Mimi sibahatishangi, na sijawahi bahatisha. Tukiwa Zimmerman nilitabiri nikasema hata unaona hizi mikutano mikubwa Kibaki atakua president, 2007 nikawaambia Kibaki atakua president

“2013 nikawaambia hawa ndio wataongoza, siwadanganyi hawa (Ruto) watashinda… Niliwaambia wale viongozi wataingia hapa ndio wataingia. Si wamekuja, Mungu atawapatia,” Mwai prophesied.

The post sparked reactions from netizens who took issue with the Bishop for erecting the poster inside a church, which is considered holy.

Pauline Njoroge: No! No! No! How can they have these on a church screen during worship? Yes Ruto is visiting the church, but he can’t be the centre of attention during worship session. It’s wrong!

Kiyo Nganga: This is Praise and Worship session. They ate his money now they have to project his campaign posters on the alter and sing praises to him. “Tumempata Ruto moyoni”. I hoped it was deep fake until I saw it live on their pages, very unfortunate.

Gordon Opiyo: I don’t know what is going on in this church, but the man of God is bold. He has decided to stop the pretence. Many are secretly praying for Ruto to be President. Huyu ame amua kuweka peupe peupe.
