Eliud Kipchoge has visited Manchester United ahead of a key match against Liverpool.
Photos of Kipchoge at Manchester United’s Carrington training centre sparked excitement after they emerged online on Sunday, September 1.
In the viral photos, the marathon legend met with Manchester United players, where he also shared inspiration with the team.
Kipchoge’s illustrious sporting record includes the INEOS 1:59 Challenge, where he became the first human being to run a marathon under two hours, albeit under controlled conditions.
“From Barcelona to Manchester. It has been great to visit the different teams of the INEOS Sports Family. Yesterday we had the opportunity to visit @manchesterunited and exchange knowledge with the performance team and players,” Kipchoge wrote on his Instagram.

Among the players Kipchoge met at Old Trafford include Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount.
At Old Trafford, Eliud Kipchoge was gifted a shirt with “1:59,” signifying the historical feat of becoming the first person to run a marathon in under two hours.
Manchester United even recognised the marathon legend by posting on their social media platform, “A legend in our midst. Great to see you, Eliud Kipchoge.”

Kipchoge’s visit aims to sell the idea of cross-pollination of ideas and techniques between different sports.
The concept is being championed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the Manchester United minority owner.
