The body of former President Mwai Kibaki is currently lying in state at Parliament.
Kibaki’s body which is surrounded by four Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers will be viewed from 8am to 5pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the public will have a chance to view the body of the retired President and pay their last respects between 9 am and 5 pm.
The family of the late President was joined by thousands of Kenyans and high ranking government officials including President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.
Led by Jimmy Kibaki, Kibaki’s children and grandchildren showed up at the Parliament buildings to pay their last respects to their loved one.
Kibaki’s children include Jimmy, Judy Wanjiku, Tony Githinji and David Kagai.
He also left behind a number of grandchildren including Mwai Junior, Sean Andrew and Muthoni Kibaki.
Others are Joy Jamie Marie, Rachael Muthoni, and Krystina Muthoni.
From photos seen by GOTTA.news, members of the Kibaki family were seen interacting with politicians at a holding room within Parliament.
