MP Kimani Ngunjiri calls for dissolution of Parliament

Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has called for dissolution of Parliemant to pave way for fresh elections.

In a press address, the MP accused Uhuru of failing to unite the country and leading the government that did not care about the welfare of the common mwananchi.

The MP said the current rate of employment and unconducive environment for doing business had left Kenyans, notably the youths feeling helpless.

“ If the president is unable to unite the country, if Parliament has failed, I ask him to dissolve the government so that we can return to the people for fresh mandate,” said Ngunjiri.

The legislator also vowed to fight Building Bridges Initiatives (BBI) in and out of Parliament if it will not favour the urgent needs of Kenyans.

The Tanga Tanga faction leaning legislator is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto who has equally maintained he will only support the report if the recommendations will benefit common mwananchi.

The BBI task force was formed after the March 9 2018 Handshake between President Uhuru and opposition leader Raila Odinga.

The recommendations of the report which is yet to be made public are expected to foster inter-ethnic unity through fair resources allocation and representation.
