Children of a Mombasa woman who was imprisoned and fined KSh 50,000 have come out to the public seeking help to raise the amount.
Pauline Atieno, 26 was arrested and charged after getting into a rough and noisy fight with her neighbour.

According to reports, the mother of two got into a scrimmage with her neighbour following a conflict between their children.
The two residents of Jamvi La Wageni, Mombasa got into a fight and Atieno injured her neighbour’s hand leading to her arrest.
Atieno was arrested on July 16 and booked at Likoni Police Station.
She was later taken to court and fined KSh 50,000 or six months imprisonment.
Atieno failed to raise the amount forcing her children to beg in the streets seeking funds to lay the fine.
“We miss our mom. A fine of KSh 50,000 we can’t afford, please forgive us,” read a placard written and hoisted by the two youngsters.
Atieno is currently held at Shimo La Tewa Prison.

Her husband who lost his job due to the COVID-19 pandemic, said he was not able to raise the money as he was a construction worker.
