A policewoman based at Kianyaga Police Station and her husband were on Friday, December 20, found dead at Kianyaga police quarters.
According to a police incident report seen by Gotta.news, the police officer, Caroline Wangari Mbote aged 31, failed to report to work at Kianyaga Police Station prompting one of her colleagues to to look for her.
On reaching the officer’s house at Kianyaga police line, Wangari’s colleague knocked the door but there was no response.
She is said to have alerted her colleagues after peeping through the window and seeing someone lying on the floor.
Officers who arrived at the scene broke into the house and found Wangari lying with blood oozing from his face, having been stabbed several times with a kitchen knife. She also had an injury on her head.
They also found the body of Wangari’s husband, Samwel Kiama, hanging on a Maasai sheet around his neck at the sitting room.
A suicide note and a herbicide half full was also found on the floor. The suicide note suggested Kiama suspected his wife was having an extramarital affair.
Kirinyaga East police boss Anthony Wanjuu said police were piecing together details to establish the motive behind the killing.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Kibugi Funeral Home in Kutus.
