Kenyans Condole With Sean Andrew Following Grandpa Mwai Kibaki’s Death

Kenyans have condoled with brand influencer Sean Andrew following the death of his grandfather, former President Mwai Kibaki. 

Kibaki took his final bow on Thursday night, April 21 aged 90. 

His demise was announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta in a televised address from State House, Nairobi on Friday, April 22. 

Following Kibaki’s demise, netizens flocked Andrew’s social media timeline to share their condolences and messages of goodwill. 

Netizens shared their condolences by commenting on his last social media post which was made six days ago.

@hellen_makibi: My condolences Andrew. We shall remember him as the greatest of all time. My father’s song to him to date shows just how much we love him.

To mourn his departed grandpa, Andrew changed his profile photo on all his social media platforms. 

He replaced them with a blackout photo. 

In honour of Kibaki, Uhuru directed that the country observe a period of national mourning from Friday until the day he will be laid to rest.

The Jubilee Party leader also directed the Kenyan flags to be flown half-mast across the country and in all the Kenyan embassies abroad.

Also, the president asked the deputy-president, the chief justice, cabinet secretaries, the speaker of the National Assembly, the speaker of the Senate, Kenya’s diplomats and anyone authorised by law not to fly the national flag on their official vehicles until the sunset when Kibaki will be laid to rest.

Kibaki’s remains have been transferred to Lee Funeral Home. As announced by Uhuru, he will be accorded a State funeral.
