Kang’ata denies addressing Senate from Sabina Joy bar

Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata has clarified claims that he addressed the Senate on Tuesday, September 14 while in popular entertainment joint, Sabina Joy.

Through his Twitter Twitter page, the senator dismised the claims saying he is a teetotaller, adding that the allegations were peddled by bloggers against him.

“Kieleweke bloggers- no single drop of alcohol has ever passed via my mouth. That voice insertion into my today’s senate contribution is fake and false. The true question that I asked in Senate was about Murang’a Farmers unpaid milk delivered to county factory,” he wrote.

On Tuesday, Kang’ata was barred from addressing the House virtually after Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka noted he was in an inappropriate place.

The allegations sparked a debate on social media with a section of netizens slamming the senator.
