Health CS Mutahi Kagwe is on the forefront in fighting COVID-19 in the country and in most instances hailed for his good job.
During one of his daily briefings, while urging Kenyans to self-quarantine after traveling from abroad, CS Kagwe revealed that his own son was under mandatory quarantine.
“I can tell you at a personal level, I have a son and a niece under quarantine,” he said.
Kahu Mburu Mutahi also known as Kahush, a hip hop rapper and an IT student in Leicester, UK is one of CS Kagwe’s four children.
In November 2019, Kahush released a song dubbed Mi Siwezi that was played by several top deejays in the country including Homeboyz Radio owner DJ John Rabar who lauded the rapper urging him to work harder to maintain the flow.
“His sound definitely fits our style and music as Homeboyz’s primarily focus on pushing Hip Hop. One thing he did well is the production and vocal arrangement. His work is clear and easy to follow. It may be because he is producing from abroad. But he also needs to work harder and maintain the flow,” DJ John said.

According to a report by Kenyans.co.ke, Kahush as an IT student developed a system – Lighting and Motion Sensor System – that is able to sense motion and manage lighting in rooms depending on the motion detected.
The system turns on the light in a room when someone gets into the room and switches it off immediately they leave.
While explaining his innovation, Kahush explained that his innovation would be helpful to the physically challenged, the aged and children who would need to use such rooms.
“This would be helpful when someone is in a room engaged in an activity, could move a limb and the system would respond appropriately instantly. This system would be helpful to people who are physically challenged, the aged and children who are still young and would be needed to use certain rooms,” he said.
