Rescue mission is ongoing in Kabarnet, Baringo county after a car belonging to a K24 journalist Daniel Chemjor plunged into a deep gorge on the night of Wednesday, November 20.
The number of occupants is not clear but unconfirmed reports say the journalist was alone during the incident.
Chemjor’s vehicle is said to have veered off the road near the Kerio River bridge before rolling and falling into Cheploch gorge located on the border of Baringo and Elgeyo Marakwet counties.
County commissioner Ahmed Omar confirmed the incident saying the family had been informed about the incident.
“So far we know the car ad one occupant. We will however, be sure of this when we retrieve the vehicle,” said Omar.
Cheploch gorge has become a tourist attraction owing to its daredevil divers who dive 100 metres into the crocodile infested gorge.
