Tanzanian star Rayvanny on Sunday, November 14 made history after becoming the first African artiste to perform at the MTV EMAs main event.
The musician performed alongside Colombian singer Maluma where they performed their collaboration dubbed, Mama Tetema at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna in Budapest, Hungary.

“Ni mungu tu! Kama unaamini katika Mungu Type Amen,” wrote Rayvanny after the performance.
Reacting to Rayvanny’s historic performance, WCB boss Diamond Platnumz penned a congratulatory message noting that he is proud of him and the steps he made in his music career.
“The first African artist to perform MTV EMAs. Niwakumbushe msanii wa kwanza Africa kuperform MTV EMAs anatokea Tanzania, mkoa wa Wasafi na sasa ni raisi wa Next Level Music,” he wrote in part.
Diamond further advised upcoming musicians to always stay focused on their craft and avoid indulging in drugs.
“Vijana wenzangu tujifunzeni kuwa na nidhamu na fadhila ili sanaa zetu zitufikishe mbali zaidi na tusiishie kwenye mihadarati,” the musician wrote.

At the awards ceremony, Nigerian Star Wizkid was crowned as the Best African Act, beating Diamond Platnumz, South Africa’s Focalistic, Tems and Ghana’s Amaarae.
