Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s daughter Saumu Mbuvi has asked single mothers to find a father figure to their children.
In an interview with Radio Jambo, Saumu advised women against being single mothers saying there were things only a father figure could teach a child.
“ You can be a good mother but there’s something that a father will teach the child that is different,” she said.

She said while many women were choosing to be single mothers to avoid relationship dramas with baby daddies, it was important that children, whether male or female receive guidance of a male role model.
“ If you look at our generation, we’re so confident in being single mothers but if you look carefully, there’s something our children are missing,” said Saumu.

Saumu described her current lover, Lamu senator Anwar Oloitiptip, as a good role model to her daughter.
This comes as she revealed her baby daddy Benson Gatu used to physically abuse her.
