Deputy President William Ruto was giving a speech at PEFA church in Thika on Sunday, November 24 when a woman marched to the front and fell at his feet.
In a viral video seen by Gotta,news, the woman is seen handing the DP an MPESA paybill number amidst the weeping.
Attempts by impatient guards to escort the woman to a seat at the back of the church do not materialize after the DP orders that the she sits near the front so that he can see her shortly after.
“ The woman has tried her best to reach here and we have to sort out her issue,” said the DP as the congregation cheered.
Shortly after, another woman runs to the podium and hands the DP a list before being directed to sit near the podium.
