DCI detectives have arrested three suspects who have allegedly been using secret codes to withdraw money from ATM’s.
DCI detectives said they had arrested prime suspect, Robert Mwaura Mwita, who has allegedly been working with security guards manning ATM points to withdraw money conned from unsuspecting members of the public.
In what appears to be a lucrative criminal venture, DCI detectives said the two guards who have been working with Mwaura and who were identified as Stanley Nyakundi and Godfrey Masinde Simiyu had in the month of September alone, sent over KSh. 2.2 Million to the prime suspect.
On Sunday October 20, the detectives pounced on one of the suspect while making the withdrawals from an ATM.
In the video uploaded on DCI social media accounts, the suspect, a security guard is seen entering a secret code then withdrawing cash from an unnamed bank ATM.
“Further investigations showed that the two guards; Stanley Nyakundi & Godfrey Masinde Simiyu had in the month of September alone, sent over Ksh. 2.2 Million to the prime suspect(Robert Mwaura Mwita). The suspects are in lawful custody and will be arraigned on Tuesday to answer to appropriate charges,” reads part of the report.
