CS Magoha announces KCPE, KCSE commencement date

Education CS George Magoha on Tuesday, October 6 announced that the ministry has settled on new dates for phased school reopening.

In a statement, the CS announced that grade 4, class 8 and form four learners will resume classes on Monday, October 12.

“Education CS George Magoha has announced the reopening of schools for Grade 4, Class 8 and Form Four learners on Monday, October 12, 2020,” a statement from the Ministry indicated.

The CS also announced dates for KCPE and KCSE commencement.

“KCPE examinations to start on March 22, 2021 and end on March 24, 2021

“KCSE exams are also scheduled to start on March 25, 2021 and end on April 16, 2021,” the statement added.

In his directive, Magoha directed that wearing of facemasks would be mandatory, and that learning institutions would be required to carry out temperature checks.

He also noted that institutions that had been used as quarantine facilities had already been fumigated and that they had been linked to nearest health facilities.

The CS also urged teachers to issue psychological and spiritual support to students noting that the government had footed KCPE and KCSE costs for all students.
