Five people died in an accident along the Eldama Ravine-Eldoret road in Baringo County in the early hours of January 1 , 2020.
The five, two women and three children were in a small vehicle that was headed to Eldama Ravine from Poror.
Witnesses said the five died on the spot in the 5am accident.
“We heard a loud bang … On rushing to the scene, we found the vehicle in the ditch and the five were already dead,” said Joseph Biwott, told Daily Nation.
Koibatek Sub-County Commander Rashid Mohamed said the driver lost control of the saloon car at Kabonyony junction eventually ending up in a ditch.
The mangled wreck of the ill-fated vehicle was towed to Eldama Ravine police station while the bodies were taken to Eldama Ravine hospital mortuary.
