Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi wants Infotrak Research firm investigated for extortion.
Speaking during a recent event, the county boss claimed that the firm asked for KSh 3 million to rank him among the top performing governors in Kenya.

He said that he is ready to produce evidence, adding that he will never bribe the firm for any form of favour.
“I am ready to go there and give evidence that they were asking for KSh 3 million so that they give us a better number. I will never give a single cent to them, let me be number 47 out of 47.
“They said I will not be the governor of Meru, let them be told Kiraitu Murungi is the governor of Meru,” Kiraitu said.
In a poll released by Infotrak on Wednesday, October 28, Murungi was ranked 38th with 46.7 percent.
Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya was ranked as the best performing governor with 82.3 percent followed by his Kwale counterpart Salim Mvurya with 77.1 percent and Makueni’s Kivutha Kibwana at third position with 74.4 percent.
Kisumu’s Anyang’ Nyong’o was ranked fourth with a 65.9 percent with Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua scooping the fifth position with 65.1% percent.
In September this year, Infotrak also made headlines after Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo accused the firm of portraying her as a failure with its researches.
