Vocal Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua on Thursday, July 23 announced the opening of a 5-star hotel named using his, and his wife’s initials.
Taking to social media, Mutua welcomed Kenyans to the soft opening of the A&L Hotel in Machakos beginning today, Friday July 24.

Mutua said the investment was a culmination of a five-year journey since both himself and his wife, Lilian Nganga, were passionate about the hospitality industry.
He said newest investment was just one of their ventures in the sector.
“Initially we thought about saving up the money but halfway through we decided to take a loan and complete the project,” he explained.
Some features of the establishment include a high ceiling dining area, outdoor eating area, large swimming pool, and accommodation suits that Mutua praised as the largest in the country.
Apart from the hospitality industry, the Governor has ventured into video production and at one time ran a local TV station as well as created the Cobra Squad and Beba Beba shows.

He also has interests in aviation and export-based agriculture.
