Bobi Wine refutes gay claims

Ugandan presidential candidate and musician, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has spoken out to deny rumours that he is gay.

The presidential candidate who reiterated the stance that he is confident of dislodging the incumbent Yoweri Museveni also shut rumours that his campaigns are funded by homosexual groups.

“I am married to a woman you all know, it is a shame, it is disrespectful and I feel insulted to be involved in the sex talk when we have few hours to elections,” Bobi said during an interview with a local television.

The politician has since reminded his country people that he is a man who respects the African culture.

He further took the chance to advise those spreading such rumours to stop and think about ideas that can build Uganda.

“Driving me to such talk is diversionary. I would rather use the time to talk about our plans for the people of this country (in the event we win the elections),” he said.

“We are supported by Ugandans. Museveni can talk about whatever because he does not have anything else to tell Ugandans.”

The long serving president Yoweri Museveni had previously accused Bobi Wine of being funded by homosexual groups.

Practising homosexual in Uganda is illegal as declared by Museveni.

Uganda is slated to go to the ballot on Thursday, January 14.

There are 11 presidential candidates and among them being a woman identified as Nancy Kalembe.
