Leah Wanjiku allegedly took KSh200,000 from Alexander Kyalo Peter after claiming she could secure him employment in Denmark.

A Nairobi woman is facing trial after allegedly taking KSh200,000 from a man by promising him a job in Denmark.

Leah Wanjiku appeared before Nairobi Principal Magistrate Paul Mutai, where she was charged with obtaining money by false pretences.

The prosecution alleges that Wanjiku obtained the money from Alexander Kyalo Peter after claiming she could help him secure employment in Denmark.

Investigators allege that Wanjiku knew the claim was false when she received the money.

The alleged transaction took place on September 30, 2025, at Absa Towers along Loita Street in Nairobi.

The case was filed after investigations into the alleged job scam, with the Director of Public Prosecutions subsequently approving the charges against Wanjiku.

She denied the accusation and pleaded not guilty when she appeared before the magistrate.

KSh100,000 Bond

Magistrate Mutai released Wanjiku on a KSh100,000 bond pending the hearing of the case.

The court will mention the matter on September 22, 2026, for pre-trial directions.
