Stephanie Ruto, daughter of President William Ruto, delivered KSh 3 million to St Mary’s Mbuini Rehabilitation Centre on Sunday, February 15, drawing cheers from children, staff, and local residents.

Children in crisp uniforms lined the stage as Stephanie handed over a large symbolic cheque, shaking hands with parents and carers.

“This is not about politics,” she said.

“It’s about children – our future.”

The centre, dedicated to supporting orphans and children with special needs, plans to utilise the funds for enhancing its infrastructure and daily operations.

Staff and parents welcomed the boost, calling it a lifeline for the vulnerable youngsters.

Stephanie’s presence sparked social media chatter, with photos showing colourful banners, happy children, and a small wearable device on her arm, which some observers noticed with curiosity.

A trained children’s officer, Stephanie described her visit as hands-on.

“I work with children regularly,” she said. “I’m glad to support initiatives that uplift them.”

Her journey from Nairobi to Machakos revealed the region’s rolling hills and red earth.

“People often say Kamba land is dry,” she joked.

“Today I saw blessings — the rain made this drive beautiful.”
