A Chinese national captured assaulting a Kenyan worker in a Mabati factory has been sacked, according to the Chinese Embassy in Kenya.
In the viral clip, a Chinese national wields a sheet of corrugated iron and repeatedly strikes a Kenyan worker inside the warehouse of TCM Mabati Factory.
The assault took place while the Kenyan employee remained in stunned silence, as the supervisor unleashed a barrage of kicks, slaps, and blows, all captured on camera.
The video swiftly landed on social media and triggered widespread outrage.
The Chinese Embassy in Kenya has since issued a strongly worded statement.
They described the incident as “extremely disappointing” and confirmed the foreign worker has been terminated.
The employer has pledged to initiate deportation proceedings.

The embassy insists the act is “isolated” and should not affect broader China-Kenya business links.
Meanwhile, the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (Kenya) (COTU) demanded the immediate expulsion of the aggressor, warning that failure to act would erode trust in Kenyan workplaces.
The company has clarified the offender was an employee, not an investor as previously speculated.
They regret the incident and say it in no way reflects their standards.
Legal experts note that under Kenya’s laws, assault occasioning actual bodily harm carries up to five years in prison.
For foreign nationals, the consequences may also include visa revocation or deportation.
Workers at the factory described an atmosphere of shock and tension.
