Muema attacked a gun man who had raided his friend’s shop and was in the process shot by the thug who would later be identified as ex-Kamiti Prison convict.
Muema thanked well-wishers who contributed towards offsetting his hospital bill.
“The total bill came to Ksh.1.2 million which was catered for by the money the public contributed through an M-Pesa Paybill number established by my family,” he told Citizen Digital.
Muema underwent several surgeries to remove several bullets the bullets that were lodged in his body.
The November 2019 incident captured by CCTV video shows two armed men making their way into the shop at around 10.30pm with one of them in maroon cap brandishing a gun.
The armed robber orders Muema to the ground and he immediately complies. The robbers then shift his attention to the shopkeeper.
However, a short while after, Muema gets up and rains blows on the gunman and that is when hell broke loose.
The gunman opens fire and continuously as he chases Muema out of the shop.
