Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives are digging into details of a feud between veteran journalist, author and scholar Ken Walibora with his publisher.
According to a report by Daily Nation, Walibora was entangled in a fierce dispute with a publisher over a book a week before his death.
This has emerged after detectives investigating the author’s death analysed his mobile phone’s records in a bid to solve Walibora’s mysterious death puzzle.
Detectives are also investigating whether the Siku Njema author boarded another car after leaving his car at a parking space on Kijabe Street hours before his death.
So far, security guards who saw Walibora park his car have been grilled on his movements.
Walibora had a stab wound that the professor sustained in his hands, which Government Pathologist Johanssen Oduor stated were consistent with an attempt to defend himself from his assailants.
Oduor’s statement was related to unconfirmed reports that Walibora was being chased by a group of men before being hit by a matatu while crossing Landhies Road.
Walibora is set to be laid to rest on Wednesday, April 22 at Cherang’any, Trans Nzoia County.
Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Samson Ojwang’ said the number of mourners who will attend the burial will be limited to 15 as per the Ministry of Health guidelines which are aimed at curbing the spread of the COVID-19.
