The statement, however, did not disclose how much the county purchased the x-mas tree.

The statement by county government press team disclosed that Kimemia would leading the lighting event which will be held in Mairoinya.

It further disclosed that the event will be done in rotation in every subcounty.

“The Christmas tree which is already set up has not been imported…..The organising department is fully prepared to account for the event’s budget,” the press team clarified.

Social media users had earlier lashed out at Kimemia’s administration with rumours of using the county government funds recklessly.

“Nyandarua county government has bought a Christmas tree worth KS 12 million yet they don’t have accessible roads to enjoy Christmas,”argued Mukami wa Embu.

“Nyandarua county imports Christmas tree worth a “modest” Ksh 12million. Statement says needy residents will receive Governor’s portrait as part of foodstuff package. Mungu awe nanyi Nyandarua residents. Weh,” added Bett Kiprono.
