Citizen TV presenter Kimani Mbugua over the weekend set the internet on fire after claiming that the Seventh Day Adventist Church is cult.
In a video on his Facebook page, Mbugua disclosed that he was born and bred in an SDA family and got to know the religion in-depth and even became an elder at 16.
He claimed that the religion rendered him unapproachable and annoying due to his strong beliefs.
However, on Sunday night, the 24-year-old went ahead to delete the posts and apologized to the church stating that his anger was directed to the writer identified as Ellen White.
“There was a path for me and I followed it diligently and I am not saying these things from a point of ignorance. I have read every book and I am willing to sit down with anyone with an open mind,” he said.
“Apologies to any SDAs who were offended by my use of the f’word against Ellen G White and all the strong language I used earlier, I have deleted those posts from my personal page. My anger was only directed to her and not you guys,” he said.
He went ahead to state that he no longer wished to be associated with the SDA church which he has been a member for two decades.
“I will formally write to the church to officially remove my name from their register, I renounce the SDA faith and I no longer wish to be associated with Seventh Day Adventism,” he said.
