Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has asked Health CS Mutahi Kagwe to resign over misappropriation of funds meant for COVID-19.
Amisi demanded the CS to resign for the sake of Kenyans and people who have died because of the money that was squandered.

The MP further called out the CS for making excuses on disappearance of the funds even though it is clear that it was misappropriated under his watch.
“Our resources and our health have turned out to be the causes of our deaths. CS Health cannot run away from this. He has the highest responsibility as the Minister.
“He does not need to explain to people. Everybody knows that money has been squandered. All he needs to do for the respect of the people of Kenya and for the respect for the dead, those who have died because of the money that has been squandered, he just needs to resign,” said Amisi.
The MP also poked holes on suspension of three Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) officials claiming the Ministry ‘sacrificed’ them to shift the blame game.
“That is a sacrificial lamb and hogwash. You can just oversee corruption and then start sacrificing officials of the ministry,” he said.
Amisi insinuated that the CS should be held responsible instead of the Ministry officials.
“Corruption lands at the highest helm. If a county is corrupt, they look at the governor and if the country is corrupt they look at the president,” he added.

On Friday, August 14, KEMSA CEO Jonah Mwangi Manjari and two other officials, KEMSA commercial director Eluid Muriithi and procurement director Charles Juma, were suspended over alleged irregular procurement of COVID-19 personal protective equipment (PPEs).
