Speaking during an interview with Jalang’o on his Bonga na Jalas YouTube channel, Mwakideu revealed he will be vying for Wundanyi parliamentary seat.

“This is my last leg on radio, after this am heading to politics… Yes I will be Wundanyi MP come 2022, that is a must. Taita people have requested me, who am I to deny.

“I was in Voi recently and people have even opened social media groups to drum support ahead of 2022,” he asserted.

Mwakideu said his plan was to end his radio journey alongside Jalang’o who is his best friend, but he unfortunately left him untimely.

The two were working together at Radio Maisha but Jalang’o left for Hot 96, months before Mwakideu left for Milele FM.

They later reunited when Jalang’o joined Milele FM to co-host a breakfast show with Mwakideu.

The comedian worked at the station until recently when he was fired due to the company’s financial instability brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This came just a day after Jalang’o revealed that he will vie for the Langata parliamentary seat in the 2022 General Election.

Speaking during an interview with radio presenter Billy Miya, Jalang’o said he will run for the seat as he was tired of crying for change yet he can make the change himself.

“You are looking at Lang’ata MP, I am not incoming, when they mention MPs names, know that you will hear Jalang’o Jalang’o,” he said.
