Deputy President William Ruto has asked Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to consider a political alliance with him in the run up to the 2022 poll.

Ruto was speaking in Makueni at the funeral of former Cabinet Secretary Cleopas Mailus’s mother who passed away in early January said it was time Kalonzo tried a different means having supported Raila in 2012 and 2017 without success.

“ You tried to make him president without success, you know I also tried but failed. I helped Uhuru become president and he will be retiring in 2022, my friend, lets walk together… “ Ruto said as the crowd erupted in cheers.

Kalonzo however avoided the discussion saying there exists no pact between him and Ruto on 2022 succesion politics.

“2022 is three years away, I know the news people are here waiting to write that I have met Ruto again, that is not true, Wiper is straight and we are working with Uhuru for the remainder of his term,” Kalonzo said in part.

In an interview before close of 2019, the wiper leader maintained the only alliance he would accept is one that will have him on the ballot.
