Vehicle overturns at Likoni channel hours after trailer plunged into the Indian Ocean

A vehicle with passengers on it has overturned at Likoni channel at the same spot where a trailer plunged into the Indian Ocean hours ago.

The incident happened on Wednesday, January 13 at around 3pm.

Four passengers who had boarded the pickup came out safe with small scratches only.

Reports, however, indicate that one person was left nursing serious injuries after being hit by the pick up belonging to SGA security.

The driver explained that as he was about to reach the Likoni channel the car’s brakes broke immediately.

He further disclosed that the car hit the pedestrian as he was trying to turn the car to avoing plunging into the Ocean.

This comes hours ago after a trailer near the Likoni channel plunged into the Indian Ocean.

According to reports, the driver of the trailer lost controlled and plunged into the water while trying to maneuver into the ferry.

No injuries had been reported as of the publishing of this report.

This came just two days after a tourist bus plunged into the Indian Ocean at the same spot.

Reports indicate that the bus was embarking into the ferry when the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle before it plunged into the ocean.

The driver and a guide, who were on board at the time of the incident, were evacuated to safety as locals helped ferry officials to retrieve the bus.
