President Uhuru Kenyatta has slammed Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri for continually ‘insulting’ him in public.

Uhuru was speaking during a stopover within the constituency after opening a KSh 5.8 billion cement factory in Salgaa early on Tuesday, January 28.

Like the proverbial shaving the lion in his den, the president from the onset showed intent to decimate one of his fiercest critics. And how best to do it than take the war to his adversary’s doorsteps.

What’s more, the president made it appear that it’s the residents who were tired about the MP’s ferocious attacks against his regime.

“ I want to ask you the people of Bahati, are you the people who send him?…because he keeps saying he’s sent by you people of Bahati. Are you the people who send him?” inquired the president in Gikuyu.

A sizable number of residents shouted” Aca (Gikuyu for no)

But the president was not done yet, he added another blow:

“Tell your MP to leave me alone. Let him do the work you gave him as I do my job.”

Ngunjiri, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto has mutated into one of Uhuru’s fiercest critics.

Hehehehe ….. ground though, ground….. MP amerukwa kama ngori!

The MP has of late been castigating the president for bad economic policies and at one one time even dared him to resign.

The Jubilee MP has not been enthusiastic about the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), terming it a ploy by powerful power brokers to have ODM leader Raila Odinga ascend to power in 2022.

But on Tuesday, Uhuru told the residents BBI aimed to bring to an end inter-communal conflicts that are becoming synonymous with elections.

“ I’m praying that God helps me to unite Kenyans so that we bring to an end chaos that arise after every five years.”

The president promised to return in the area so he could spend a day discussing development with residents.
