Sudan Prime Minister, ministers arrested in suspected coup
Other than the arrest, Al Hadath TV reported that there was also a disruption in internet connectivity in most parts of Khartoum
Reports coming in from Sudan indicate that a section of Sudanese military unit has staged a suspected coup arresting Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok.
On Monday morning, October 25, the Prime Minister was put under house arrest after the military took control of his residence.
The reported house arrest comes shortly after Sudan’s military arrested Hamdok's media advisor.
Unidentified military personnel also arrested four cabinet ministers and a civilian member of the ruling sovereign council.
Other than the arrest, Al Hadath TV reported that there was also a disruption in internet connectivity in most parts of Khartoum, Sudan's capital city.
This new development comes a month after a failed coup attempt.
At the time, a top government source said the plotters had attempted to take over the state media building in September but they failed.
