Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris on Thursday, September 17 defended media personality Anita Nderu after coming out as a member of Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community.

Taking to Twitter, Passaris urged people to refrain from making negative comments on people with different sexuality.

“We must all commit unreservedly to the fight against homophobia and prejudice,” Passaris wrote.

Passaris’ remarks sparked mixed reactions with some supporting her and others opposing her.

On Thursday, September 17, Anita sparked mixed reactions after revealing that she is LGBTQ.

In a Twitter post Anita said that she hopes her kids will not undergo the same challenges she has underwent as LGBTQ.

“I hope my kids never have to go through what I have gone through for being LGBTQ+,” the media personality wrote.
