Outrage as KCSE candidates spend the night at Uhuru Park

Outrage spark online after it emerged that a section of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates who recently completed their exams spent their night in the cold.

According to reports, students from various schools were forced to stay at Uhuru Park on Monday night, April 19.

The students could not travel to their respective homes due to the dusk to dawn curfew restrictions.

A section of teachers and students caught in the melee asked the government to review curfew restrictions especially now when students are going back home after completion of their exams.

“The current situation is a crisis for both the teachers and students who are traveling to their homes from far-flung schools because they have to beat time

“And to be able to beat time there are so many factors to consider like traffic jams, some parents have to pick their children and other obstacles along the way,” Mathew Rotich, a teacher at Anestar Boys’ High School said.
