Apart from the mud, she has to cross River Kibailuk and then walk for 10km before climbing a hilly terrain where the school is located.

We pick the exams from the Trans Mara East Sub-County headquarters at 6am. A police van then drops us off at Murkan. From there, we have to walk on foot because no vehicle can traverse past that point,” she said.

It becomes even more challenging for her during rainy days as she has to find other routes which are not even near good but are atleast.

Magdalene revealed that she was posted at the Sosiani High School in January 2021 something her family was against at first but after a short time they loved the area.

The teacher opened up that she also loved the school and the students as they are strong despite coming from poor backgrounds.

The roads leading to the school are impassable and no vehicles can pass through them. However, I stay at Sosiani Centre which is near the school and I do not walk as much as I am doing this exam period.
