Nandi: Man dies after being clobbered by son

A man identified as Stanley Cheokwiny from Nandi County passed away after being clobbered by his 17-year-old son Vincent Cheokwiny over form one enrollment row.

The brawl between the two son started on Monday Night, August 9 after the father was confronted by his son and later on engaged on a physical fight.

According to reports the son was angry because his father delayed his admission to secondary school and that when he confronted him and later hit him hard on the with a club.

According to Nandi East OCPD David Nyabuto Stanley was rushed to a county health centre in Meteitei on early the following morning for first aid.

There was a conflict between the two that led to a fight and the boy hit the father on the head using a rungu,” Nyabuto said.

The man on Wednesday, August 11 was rushed to Kapsabet County Hospital but unfortunately died on arrival with health officers reporting that he had lost too much blood.

The body of the 42-year-old man was taken to Kapsabet County Hospital for preservation and postmortem.

The teenager was arrested and detained at the Nandi Hills Police Station as police officers proceed with further investigations.
