Mudavadi’s ANC to meet over DP Ruto’s impeachment plans

Amani National Congress (ANC) legislators are set to meet on Wednesday to take a position regarding the alleged plot to impeach Deputy President William Ruto.

ANC deputy party leader Ayub Savula told Daily Nation that the legislators are scheduled to meet at a Nairobi hotel to discuss the matter.

“The ANC PG is meant to ensure that the process of impeaching the Deputy President, which includes collection of signatures to support the grounds for removal, goes on smoothly,” he said.

“The ANC PG is meant to ensure that the process of impeaching the Deputy President, which includes collection of signatures to support the grounds for removal, goes on smoothly,” he said.

Savula said the plan to have the DP removed from office was triggered by a meeting where a section of Jubilee legislators allied to DP met in Naivasha recently, where the pro-Handshake MPs have claimed one of the agendas was to impeach the President.

This comes barely two months since ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi accompanied President Uhuru in launching projects in December, sparking talks of possible political re-alignments.

Recently, COTU boss Francis Atwoli said Mudavadi and Uhuru were great friends before Ruto ” came in between the two and destroyed their friendship.”

“The man who separated the two friends is none other than William Ruto as he did not want Musalia near the president.

Now that Ruto has been kicked out, take advantage and return to your friend,” said Atwoli to the cheering crowd during the Kakamega Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rally.
