“I saw a zeal, I saw a great person in him. Can we help this brain?” pleaded Mruu.

Khamisi opted to do his homework under the street lights because he comes from a financially unstable family that is unable to afford electricity tokens.

Mruu disclosed that the boy lives with his mother and an uncle. His mother is jobless while his uncle is a struggling mason.

According to Mruu the small family lives in a rented house that has lamps which must be paid KSh 135 daily to have the lights on.

Kenyans of goodwill who came across the story were touched by the boy’s resilience and zeal for education and promised to help him.

Already, a good number of well-wishers have commenced a drive and hopes to manage raise funds that would help the boy proceed with his education.
