Maina Kamanda booed in Kirinyaga for saying nobody knows Kenya’s next president

Self-styled Kieleweke patron Nominated MP Maina Kamanda got more than he bargained for in Kagio, Kirinyaga after residents read that he was out to humiliate Deputy President William Ruto.

Kamanda and other top government officials were attending a funds drive for Gathuthini Hope Foundation when the  nominated MP decided to delve into Building Bridges Initiative report and succession politics.

The nominated MP who is a staunch supporter of the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga had a rough time addressing the residents who took to chanting DP Ruto slogans.

In his speech, the MP avoided mentioning Ruto instead praising the handshake between President Uhuru and Raila.

Matters came to a head when Kamanda, Speaking in Gikuyu language, insinuated to the residents that political alliances are not cast in stone and that they should not to be shortsighted.

“ You even heard the president say during the BBI launch that only God knows who will be president in 2022,” said Kamanda.

It is then the crowd started chanting “Ruto!, Ruto!” forcing him to cut short his speech and handed over the microphone to Kirinyaga Woman Rep Wangui Ngirici.
