KPA boss Dan Manduku resigns

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Managing Director Daniel Manduku has resigned.

In a letter dated March 26, 2020 addressed to Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia, Manduku states that he has decided to quit his job after “deep introspection and lengthy consultation”.

“I wish to communicate formally a decision which I have reached after deep introspection and lengthy consultation,” said the statement.

He added:

“As you know, it has been both an honor and a privilege to serve as the head of this most vital installation. The duty of the captain of the ship has been to ensure that she remains steady and that she remains her course.”

He goes on to thank every single person who contributed towards the various achievements he witnessed during his tenure, he also personally thanked CS Macharia.

“I shall be eternally grateful for the support of all the outstanding individuals who have contributed to what we have achieved over the last few years and to you in particular for your leadership and vision.”

Manduku’s resignation comes three weeks after his arrest on March 2, 2020 for unlawfully recommending the gazettement of the Nairobi Inland Cargo Terminal as a KPA facility.
