Kenya has in the last 24 hours recorded 723 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the total tally of confirmed cases in the country 20,636.

Speaking during the daily COVID-19 briefing, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said 8,679 samples were tested under the same period bringing total number of samples tested so far to 303,959.

Out of the new cases, the CS said 450 are men while 273 are women with the youngest patient being a 9-month-old infant, and the oldest a 87-year-old.

Also, the CS announced that 44 patients have been discharged from hospital, bringing the total tally of recoveries to 8,165.

Unfortunately,16 more patients succumbed to the virus, raising the total death toll to 341.
